More About Me
I was born and raised in Todmorden, West Yorkshire.
I spent my early adult life working in the corporate world within the finance sector and my life was very much about climbing the career ladder.
Death and dying has always been talked about in my family due to the nature of my Mum’s work being in the funeral business.
I always had an interest in the service my family offered as it is so important- being the last opportunity to honour the life of a person who has died.
I was always curious about this life transition and loved listening to Mum’s stories of how she had honoured people’s finals wishes and supported families during this tender time.
Even though death and dying was very familiar to me, nothing could have prepared me for when our Dad died.
Dad’s death was very sudden- he died just 6 weeks after his diagnosis. After Dad’s funeral I was left with so many conflicting emotions of wishing things could have been different, better, or we had chance to do again.
Also all of the hopes, dreams and expectations for our relationship that had now been taken away. I didn’t really know which way to turn.
It sent me on a journey of self discovery to explore the deaper meaning of life and why we are here.
After experiencing other losses I decided I needed help as I didn’t want to keep allowing the cumulative grief I was carrying to keep impacting my happiness or the happiness of my family, especially since the birth of my daughter.
I completed the Grief Recovery Method for myself and knew that this was something I had to share with others.
Since sharing the Grief Recovery Method for a number of years, one of my observations was that how we die has a huge impact on how we grieve.
Exploring this led me to the work of Felicty Warner and the Soul Midwife movement here in the UK.
I completed Felicities Soul Midwife training and was propelled to establish the Sacred Death Centre, to support the community in all aspects of end of life care, death and grief.

More About Me
I have been living in Glastonbury since 2005 and qualified as a classical homeopath in 2012.
Prior to that I trained in aromatherapy, crystal healing, flower essence therapy and hypnotherapy.
I have always been fascinated by natural medicine and the therapeutic properties of plants and gemstones as well as the role of the subconscious mind in health and healing.
I experienced the grief and trauma of losing my mother at the age of 28 to cancer ten years after she was diagnosed with incurable non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.
It was at this point that I read the book by Elizabeth Kubler-Ross called “On Death and Dying” and realised that the present understanding of death in Western society creates a lot of fear and unnecessary suffering.
I am committed to offering gentle support and a compassionate non-judgemental space for people undergoing the stress and emotional turmoil of losing a loved one.
